Summer Respite Recreation Facilitator YACRO Summer Respite Day Camp2 positions available for 12-week Planning & Scheduling/Summer FacilitatorPositions available for 8-week Summer FacilitatorResponsibilities:Planning and Scheduling: June 7th – July 5th· Creating daily programs and schedules· Organizing participant registrations, assessing participant needs, and developing programming specific to the participant’s needs· Creating visual schedules· Completing risk assessments for planned activities· Researching assistive and adaptive opportunities for participants and implementing these into their program· Researching adaptive communication strategies· Completing educational modules online· Participating in regular planning meetings· Participate in training· Participate in meet and greet with families and participants· Acquiring all necessary items for programming, supplies and groceries· Contacting participant families as necessary while developing a professional and trusting relationshipSummer Respite Program Facilitation: July 5th – August 27th· Supervision and engagement of participants· Building a positive rapport with participants and families· Positive role modeling to participants· Transportation in personal vehicle to and from community activities (not required, but an asset)· Implementation of programming· Completing daily cleaning checklists· Ensuring implementation of proper sanitary protocols; ie. hand washing, disinfecting routines, etc.*Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, program dates are tentative and may be subject to change.All job responsibilities will be conducted in a manner which reflects the COVID-19 Day Camp Guidelines and Procedures put in place by the Nova Scotia Government.Contract length: 3 monthsJob Types: Full-time, TemporarySchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork remotely:NoCOVID-19 precaution(s):Personal protective equipment provided or requiredSocial distancing guidelines in placeSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place
