Chancellor Park has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, passionate, and energetic Resident Care Manager (RCM) who wants to work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team who are committed to providing the highest standard of care for its residents while creating a positive workplace environment for its staff.Reporting to the Executive Director, the Resident Care Manager is responsible for the day to day clinical operations which includes interaction with interdisciplinary teams, other departments, and residents and families.Strong clinical, organizational and leadership skills, as well as a flexible and team-oriented approach are critical. Demonstrated trust, recognition of individual work styles and the ability to work in a collaborative environment is imperative for success in this role.Responsibilities Communicate professionally, clearly and effectively with the residents and staff either in-person, by telephone or electronically. Facilitate adherence to all relevant legislation and best practices for care and the workplace.Establish and implement goals and objectives for the department that align with the strategic plans of the organization.Empower staff to identify issues and make effective evidence-based decisions to resolve them.Investigate incidents, illnesses, and complaints as necessary.Assist with staff orientation and continuing education continuously promoting the importance of current knowledge.Participate in the recruitment process for all care-related staffing.Demonstrate work/life balance and manage wellness, self-care and workplace attendance programs. Promote teamwork, efficiency, innovation, collaboration and efficient utilization of resources. Monitor for inefficiencies and support quality improvement efforts wherever possible.Represent the organization’s mission, vision and values in all relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEducation and Experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing or approved equivalent required.Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in geriatrics during which professional capability has been clearly demonstrated.3 years continuing care leadership experience preferred. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.Working knowledge of the RAI MDS 2.0 processExperience with coaching and performance managementUnderstanding and working knowledge of Accreditation Standards and relevant legislation.Experience with electronic charting programs preferred.Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Soft Skills Polished interpersonal skills, specifically in providing quality care to residents and maintaining effective relationships. Ability to remain objective in decision-making with a clear focus on what is best for the resident, the staff and the organization as a whole.Excellent organizational and conflict resolution skills.Strong dedication to safe, ethical, kind and just practices involving residents and staff.Strong analytical/problem solving skillsExcellent English language oral and written communication skills.Must be service-driven, have a strong work-ethic and be able to accept responsibility and accountability.Chancellor Park offers a competitive salary and benefits package including extended health, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as a Pension Contribution Program.
