We are looking for a Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist to join our team, who is passionate about making an impact in the places we serve. Working closely with members to the CSR team, and our Environmental, Social and Governance network across the company, the successful candidate will work to leverage our community partnerships to deliver results for our company and create impact for the places where we live and work. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, the Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist is responsible for collaborating with internal and external partners to support the company’s corporate social responsibility mandate, including maintaining relationships with community partners, executing community programming and campaigns, fostering employee engagement and proposing storytelling. What you’ll need to succeed Develop and implement Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and programs that leverage our community partnerships to deliver results for our company, including brand and reputational priorities, as well as employee attraction and retention in collaboration with the Human Resources team. Actively maintains relationships with Irving Oil’s longstanding and new community partners in the countries where we operate. Plan and execute campaigns and programming associated with our community partnerships. Propose internal and external communications narrative and storytelling opportunities to members of the Corporate Communications team for use on digital channels and in employee communications. Participate in Donation & Sponsorship Review Committee meetings, with critical lens of advising on strategic investments in community organizations to achieve business objectives. Report on success of investments and activities as required. Assist with other communications and relationship building tasks as necessary. Professional skills Demonstrated communications skills, including written and verbal. Ability to represent the company in a professional manner and liaise with external partners. Ability to liaise with leadership and various internal stakeholders to achieve objectives. Ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative manner, to accomplish work and participate in team efforts. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Travel Flexibility to travel and work outside of regular business hours is a requirement. Education and experience University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 5-10 years of progressive and relevant work experience in Public Relations, Communications or related field.
