Competition No. 2021-059 The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on twelve steps that range from $58,495.87 - $81,778.09. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $70,225.64 annually With the 2020/2021 Academic year primarily offered online, this position may be required to work remotely, onsite, or a combination of both. Specifics to be confirmed upon hire. Responsibilities As part of the campus Student Services team, you will be helping students make decisions, solve problems, and meet goals that maximize their college experience. You will work to engage and support a caseload of students - including prospective, transitioning-in, current, and transitioning-out students. You will be planning and delivering events, activities, and interactions that support student growth, engagement, and leadership. You will be advising students in areas including Accessibility, Career, Enrolment, Finance, Learning, Student Life, and Wellness. For example, you will Provide opportunities for students to explore career and employment options. Help students learn and make informed decisions regarding college policies, program selection and completion options. Assist students in planning how to meet financial commitments of college. Use recreational, cultural, and social events and activities to engage students. Refer students to internal learning disability, and counselling supports. Refer students to relevant community services and supports. You will be a member of campus and provincial Student Services and Advising teams, which provide a continuum of integrated services and opportunities to students in-person, online, and in blended environments. You will initiate and build partnerships with Academic Chairs and Faculty in order to provide services tailored to the unique needs and opportunities of students and programs. Qualifications and Occupational Experience: The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree (such as Adult Education, Education, Social Sciences or Student Affairs). Experience in Career Development would be considered an asset, as well as understanding of Student Development models. You have a minimum of three years recent and relevant occupational experience in student services or supporting adults in personal, academic, and/or career development. Occupational experience that includes supporting adults in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset. You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office 365 (especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), video conferencing, instant messaging and enterprise level information systems. You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience. You have experience in training/facilitation preparation and delivery in online and in-person environments. You have experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students online and in-person. You have experience events planning including leading or supporting events online and in-person. Relevant Skills and Knowledge: You demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
