Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to conducting initial assessment of referrals; community outreach and case management; leadership in the development of person centered plans; preparing proposals; managing and overseeing budget of assigned homes; overseeing licensing reviews; participation in staff meetings, hiring processes, and the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support; supporting and making strong connections with the children and youth living in the homes; orienting, training and scheduling staff; tracking home maintenance and repairs; budgeting, balancing and accounting for monthly expenditures and administrative duties. Responsibilities also include liaising with schools, neighbours, and social workers.Requirements:- Applicants must have a B.S.W./B.A. (psychology, social work or related field), and experience in clinical settings working with high needs children and youth.- Knowledge of licensing regulations for children’s residential settings.- Excellent and creative problem solving skills- Ability and strong commitment to working with high needs children and youth (i.e., genuinely cares about children and has a strong commitment to ensuring their well-being and development)- Strong organizational skills are required for this position.- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills- Independent management skills to meet deadlines.- Candidates should be knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, Aboriginal culture and traditions.- Microsoft Work processing skills, First Aid certification, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training would be considered assets.- Knowledge of behavioural management and strategies to best support children who have experienced trauma are assets.- Minimum of three years’ experience working with Level 4/5 children and youth- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle- Supervisory experience- Emotional skills to deal with challenging situations while keeping a positive attitude and creative problem solving thinking.The salary range for this 35hr/week full-time position is $22.55 to $31.58 per hour (Equivalent to $41,041 to $57,475 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which include Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff.The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, and Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks.
